Single girder bridge cranes are mainly used in factories, warehouses, workshops, ports and other places. They are excellent in lifting and carrying heavy objects. Their design structure is simple and economical, suitable for handling small and medium loads. Below, we will introduce the main components and functions of single girder bridge cranes in detail.

 

1. Main beam (bridge)

  1. Function: The main beam is the core component of a single-beam bridge crane. It carries most of the load of the crane and moves the load from one end to the other through an electric trolley. The main beam is made of steel plates, steel sections and other materials, and has high strength and rigidity.
  2. Material: Commonly used materials include carbon steel, alloy steel or other high-strength steel.
  3. Design: Generally, a box structure or I-beam structure is used to ensure the stability and load-bearing capacity of the crane.

2. Lifting trolley 

  1. Function: The lifting trolley is equipped with an electric hoist or other lifting equipment, responsible for lifting the load up and down. It usually moves along the track (or bridge) of the main beam and realizes longitudinal movement through the electric drive system.
  2. Composition:
  • Electric hoist: Mainly used in the actual lifting process of heavy objects, with large lifting capacity and flexibility.
  • Trolley drive device: drives the lifting trolley to slide along the main beam, often using an electric motor or hydraulic drive.
  • Wheel frame and track: The trolley is connected to the main beam through the wheel frame and track.

3. Drive system

  1. Function: The drive system is responsible for the movement and lifting of the crane. It is usually composed of a motor, a reducer, a frequency converter, a brake device, etc.
  2. Composition:
  • Motor: Provides power for the crane. The power and type of the motor are determined according to the load and operating requirements of the crane.
  • Reducer: The speed of the motor is adjusted by the reducer to ensure smooth and safe operation.
  • Frequency converter: Used to adjust the speed of the motor to provide more flexible lifting and walking speeds.

4.Hoisting mechanism

  1. Function: The hoisting mechanism is responsible for lifting the load from the ground to the specified height, and is mainly composed of an electric hoist, a drum, a wire rope, etc.
  2. Composition:
  • Electric hoist: used to lift or lower heavy objects vertically, and the drum of the wire rope is driven by the electric drive system during operation.
  • Drum: used to wind up the wire rope, and control the lifting and lowering of the load through the operation of the electric hoist.
  • Wire rope: connected to the drum through the wire rope, responsible for carrying and lifting materials.

5. End beam (wheel frame)

  1. Function: The end beam is an important component that connects the crane main beam to the traveling mechanism. It is usually set at both ends of the bridge crane, bearing the weight of the bridge and allowing the crane to move freely on the track.
  2. Composition:

  • Wheels: The end beam is equipped with wheels, which are in contact with the ground through guide rails or tracks to ensure that the crane moves smoothly along the track.
  • Wheel drive device: The drive device (such as an electric motor and a reducer) provides power to enable the wheels to drive the crane to move.

6.Control System

  1. Function: The control system is used to operate various functions of the crane, such as lifting, walking, moving speed, etc. The control methods are generally divided into handheld remote control, hook operation and cab control.
  2. Composition:

  • Electric control cabinet: used to control the motor and related power distribution equipment.
  • Operation panel: the operator adjusts the operation of components such as electric hoists and trolleys through the control panel.
  • Remote control system: using a wireless remote control, the operator can remotely control all actions of the crane.

7.Protective devices

  1. Function: The protective device improves the safety of the crane and reduces accidents caused by operating errors or equipment failures.
  2. composition
  • Limit switch: prevents overloading or too high/too low lifting height, protecting the crane from damage.
  • Overload protection: Electric hoists and drive systems are usually equipped with overload protection devices to ensure automatic stop when overloaded.
  • Buffer: prevents the trolley and end beam from damaging the equipment in the event of collision.

8.Track system

  1. Function: The track system provides support and guidance for the crane, ensuring that the crane moves smoothly along the designated route.
  2. Composition:
  • Track: Installed on the ground, usually steel rail or concrete track.
  • Track bracket: Supports the track and ensures the flatness and stability of the track.

9. Electrical system

  1. Function: The electrical system is responsible for the power supply and control of the crane. It includes distribution boxes, wiring devices, motors, signal lights, etc.
  2. Composition:
  • Power supply system: Provides the power required by the crane, usually 380V three-phase electricity.
  • Electrical protection device: Ensures that the electrical system can automatically cut off power when overloaded or short-circuited to protect the safety of the equipment.
